I cannot unfortunately say the same for the Harry Potter series........ I was able to stop after book 3 and I did not feel any feeling of excitement and anticipation enjoyed by the rest of the world.
I suppose that for me, David Eddings is more in depth in its philosophy on religion and different cultures. It builds up relationships between a wonderful cast of characters.
Harry Potter on the other hand seemed to lose a bit of direction after the third one. Repetitive and rather boring, dare I say. Of course this is my opinion right now. But I bet if I read the series again I might enjoy it.
Books have a habit of changing my opinion on the second or third read....
