David Eddings versus J.K.Rowling

In my personal opinion David Eddings wins: His 10 books comprising The Belgariad and The Mallorean are brilliant. I was gutted when I reached the end of the series. Luckily there were two more....to enjoy.

I cannot unfortunately say the same for the Harry Potter series........ I was able to stop after book 3 and I did not feel any feeling of excitement and anticipation enjoyed by the rest of the world.

I suppose that for me, David Eddings is more in depth in its philosophy on religion and different cultures.  It builds up relationships between a wonderful cast of characters.

Harry Potter on the other hand seemed to lose a bit of direction after the third one. Repetitive and rather boring, dare I say. Of course this is my opinion right now. But I bet if I read the series again I might enjoy it.

Books have a habit of changing my opinion on the second or third read....

Why this particular blog title?

Curiosity about the world of blogging and 'affiliates' got me started on this venture.

When it comes to physics and shopping, (I love teaching physics and I love to shop...), I think that the  (successful) outcomes for both are a matter of luck, hard thinking and of course hard work.

Since this website is under construction, I'm thinking about how to combine my two loves in a manner that will incite both interest and reap a bit of financial reward at the same time.

Tough and I am very pessimistic about both at the moment but time will tell.

I did start a blog 4 years ago but after setting up the page, lost interest....hence the pessimism. In fact I cannot even log back on my own old blog because I am an 'uninvited'. Ok I confess I forgot which e-mail address I used.....

So here goes...........
